How loose of a converter will I need?
Just picked up a rebuilt 05' LQ9, has a 224/232 .581/.595 114 LSA. I am thinking it's Comp XER or XE lobes. Doesn't sound ridiculously big, but quite a jump from my current camshaft.
Currently running an EPS 214/220 .604 112 LSA in my LQ4. Works fine with the stock torque converter and 4.11 gears, 31" tall tires.
How much of a converter am I going to need to keep my truck from being an ill-mannered pig? Almost wondering if I should ditch the cam and go with something else. The LQ9 was destined for a 6 speed 98'- 02' F- body.
My truck is a daily driver, don't want an overly aggressive setup in a 4500lb truck that rarely sees a dragstrip.

I towed with a 9.5” Vigilante converter that stalled right at 3000rpm! It made probably 2 dozen trips back and forth across Texas with an 18’ car hauler hooked to it. It was just a single disc and I never had a problem.
