A Magic Stick? As in a Texas Speed MS3 or MS4?

 

so which one of you fellows wants to help a kid out with his cam swap? ill pay for gas both ways and get ya a delicious home cooked southern meal plus some cash

is that for holding the new cam?
I'm looking to see what the valve spring removel tool looks like.

 

Those rods go into the block to hold up the lifters...spring tools look different depending which style you use. I highly recommend the Crane valvespring tool.

 

i used the cheap *** spring tool from a zone and it took twice as long to do the springs than the cam. i also used the wooden dowel rods piece of cake and they were cheap!

 

This is the Crane tool, you can get it from Vincihiperformance dot com.



Here's one that I don't recommend as it can slip sideways (at least that's the problem I had with it)



This one works but is tedious and the valve stem can get nicked if it's used incorrectly



There are also ones that look like pry bars with a notch on the end, some guys have good luck with those (I think there's someone on LS1Tech selling them as "Tim's valvspring tool" or something like that), but it seems like it would be hard to get the springs back by the firewall with that one...
