Default Heads and intake questions

I recently had a 220/220 .600 lift 110lsa cam installed, I'm looking to get the holley midrise intake, and to upgrade the heads. I have to go back to the shop and get bigger injectors put on so thinking about getting all this at once. I've searched on here about some better flowing heads I read on one post that the new body style heads would be better than the ones I have now. Is anyone running a similar setup. Here's a clip of it idling, still haven't opened it up yet to see how it runs WOT. https://youtu.be/uIB0cF4hUY0

Unless you plan to boost this truck you'd just be wasting money on the holley intake.

The NBS intake is great for torque and flows fine, if you want to do the cheaper upgrade for slightly more power and keep the low end torque swap to a NNBS intake. That will be 1/3 the cost and you'll be happier with that combo in my eyes.

What heads do you have now??

Upgrading to 243/799 heads could help some or you could just mill the stock heads to bring up the compression ratio a little bit.

It's the stock 5.3 heads, which ones exactly I have no idea.

Open the hood and find out.

They could be like 3 different heads on that year.

They are 706 heads, swapping to the 243s I'd have to get them milled to get the compression the same or higher, right?

243s flow better. You would want to mill them to keep your compression up or above.

I would also do the nnbs intake with xlink. They would compliment each other well.

That's what the shop I took it to told me also if I didn't want to spring for the prc 2.5 heads, which to me they aren't a bad price 1200 for both. I should have swapped in a 6.0 he does swaps for $1900

im running some 799/243 heads milled .030" to bump compression up to around 9.9:1. really notice a difference on power and this is with a stock cam. swapped because my old heads were cracked and might as well spend a little more to get some power.

the whole cost for me was right around $1200 for parts and another $1100 for the shop to swap them because dad didnt want me to pull it apart at home.

mostly used stock replacement parts and gaskets but i did get some arp headbolts instead just because i figure it was easier to torque to ft/lb instead of degree on the stock bolts.

also did notice it did make the exhaust a little louder too.
