Default hard to start

Lately my truck has been strugling to start. Seems like it takes 6 or so sec to start the truck. It just cranks over till the motor starts. Also i noticed white smoke always comes out after theses faulty starts. This only happens when the motor is warm. Cold starts are fine. This really sucks. Does anybody no whats going on. Thanks

Well, as for the black smoke, might be a leaking fuel pressure regulator (depending what year your truck is). My truck did the same thing about a year ago, hard start after a hot soak. The fp reg is in the middle of the driver's side fuel rail...pull the vacuum line off of it and check for the presence of fuel. If there's gas there, or a strong smell of it, it's leaking needs to be replaced.

It has about 75k miles on it with no mods. Could it be the coils or the sparkplugs? I've takin it to 2 mach shops and they cant find anything.

spark plugs and wires would be my first guess. and since its taking so long for it to start while its steadily dumping fuel in i think that could be the black smoke you're seeing. change all of them out and then try it.
