Someone told me that I need to use some kind of substance when I use a multi layer. Steel type head gasket. I have never heard this before. I have some fel pro multi layer gaskets. Can I just put them on without anything. Just wondering.

Well I already put the heads on and I didn't use anything. Just worried that I missed something and they will leak. Is it a must

 

No it's not a must. If your surface prep was good you'll be just fine. I've never used any spray gunk on any of my gaskets ever. If your block deck surface is true and the heads have a good flat surface you're going to be fine.

it wont hurt. my 370 i just put the gaskets on and clamped them on. your good to go
