Joe, a SAM Graduate, actually liked our intake setup with the twin throttle bodies so much that he had Beck Mechanical build him one. Joe runs a totally different set up than us. Last year we were running a 427ci C5R with a Jerico 4-speed. This year we are going with the 433ci LSX and a Liberty clutchless 5-speed. Transmission problems kept us from showing the cars full potential at the shootout last year, but we are geared up and ready for the upcoming race in Oct. Here are a few pics of the 2008 set up

also, does that really matter when youre making 1000hp in a light purpose built drag car??

Exactly, people always have to find something negative. IMO thats sweet and i'm sure its exactly what they were going for when they built it. So congrats on the numbers if you ask me!

What does your 6 liter make between 7K and 9600 RPM?

It probably makes about the same power yours and mine do in the lower rpm, it just makes a LOT more higher in the rpm.

thats badass and all, but the trq was almost 400 less than the hp...trq is where its at in my o/p...
plus i like to have a proportional amout of both, but prefer more bottom end..

You guys need to understand this is for a 2500 lb race car. If they wanted to build a torquey truck motor i am sure they could probably build one better than almost anybody on this board. A 6000 rpm max torquey motor isn't going to do anything in that car. You need to look at the purpose behind it. Low rpm torque means almost nothing in a car like that, so why waste the top end hp for something you don't need. Nascar engines have nothing below 5000 rpm, you think its because they don't know much about what they are doing?

Of course it is. Torque and Horsepower are related values. That's why the torque and horsepower curves always cross at 5252 rpm. 5252 is the constant in which torque and horsepower have a 1:1 relationship. So obviously the higher the RPM the less torque will be made. You will never see a car that makes more torque than horsepower over 5252 rpm

Here is the formula for horsepower so you tell me what values you would have to put in to make more torque at 9600 rpm?

Horsepower = Torque * RPM / 5252
