I thought it might have been all vacuum operated. Actually, I ditched the stock computer and went to a TCI T-COM for the tranny and FAST C-COM for the engine. I know this is off your thread but what computer are you using if you don't mind.

Cheyenne383, I aggree the 180s may be a better choice for a na 383. I'm now using a Vortech YSi supercharger rev'd to max, that's why I picked the 195s. (Also they're smog legal for CA)

I am using the '7730 ecm. The Stealthram uses the TPI fueling but the intake is actually a tunnel ram design with MPFI attached.

Yea, I chose the 180cc for more midrange torque and the low end factor. Plus the 180cc flows the same as the 195cc before the Eliminators came out.

I just finished a 383 Vortec for my 98. I will be picking up the cam card this week and I will let you know what we used. The only problem I have right now, is that we have 1.6:1 roller rockers and I think it is causing a small vacuume problem. I will be talking to my motor guy this week to see if he realizes the ratio on the rockers. We took them off of the old heads, I had them installed a while ago to make the engine think it had a bigger cam.

Well, I have a 218/224 in there currently with 9.5 compression but I am raising it to 10.5 and wondering if the 230/236 would be a big deal to run on the street.

It'll feel damn near the same honestly, maybe even a bit smaller with the added cubes and the added compression. So as long as you're happy with what you have, you should be golden. What's the lsa on the current cam and do you have any idle/vacuum issues with it?

Current setup is the same as #1 post but it has the 9.5 Comp. and 218/224 with .480 lift and a 112 lsa. No, vacuumm is fine. Vacuum reading is about the 16-17 marker....closer to 16 and sometimes 15 most times idling at 600rpms. So, the 280 XFI that I'm looking at is a 230/236 with .576 lift and 113 lsa using 1.6 rockers. I'm going to use 1.52 to be a little more street friendly. That will lower duration a little and lift. Lift will go to ~.550. Duration to about 229/235 or something like that if I figured it right.

I have 10:1 compression and am running a 276/282 or a 224/230

Not sure of the Duration used, maybe a .006 at the first numbers or .050 at second set of numbers.
