FYI. I went from a mean sounding 220/581 on a 115 LSA to a stock sounding LS6 cam. Boost went from 7.5 to 9.5. Didn't do a before and after dyno, but the LS6 cammed motor pulls longer and harder than it did with the bigger cam. Vacuum went up 3" at idle and cruise. Fuel eco went up at least an MPG or two. I miss the mean idle, but that's all I miss of that cam. Sometimes less is more.....

Yea, I know what you are saying. But am not really looking for a really crazy lope just something that let's you know it's not stock. I don't mind compromising to get the sound if it only means a losing a few horses but say 20 whp wouldn't be worth the trade off to get that nice sound. Glad to hear your new cam is working for you though.

Oh and more boost doesn't necessarily mean more power. It just means there is more restriction. Like when I put longtubes on my truck, boost went down but I gained 18rwhp.

It does when your talking cams, the boost your loosing is being bled off from too much of an overlap.

That can be true, but some of that boost you are seeing is just air that can't get out of the engine.

Also, I have talked to a few different popular engine builders in my area and they told me you actually need some over lap even in a boosted situation to help scavenge exhaust gas out of the cylinder. This gives you a good clean charge in the cynlinder for combustion.

I was surprised when they told me that because it goes against all that I had read on this forum. Every one here pushes 0 and -0 overlap for cams on boosted engines. I am so confused

Cold start and idle, tuning still needs a little work.

Just checked out your idle clip. Sounds really good, I think that I would be happy with a cam that lopes like that. Do you think a cam with those specs on a 114lsa would preform well?

I really appreciate you taking the time to get that vid up. Thanks.

Has anyone had any experience with the EPP Blower Cam?

What are you guys paying for springs and pushrods. I am looking at some for this price $389.99 for the cam, $255.00 for Patriot Gold valvesprings with free shipping. Can I get them cheaper from a sponsor or do any of you have some for sale? Thanks.

You could always custom spec a cam through texas speed or thunder racing and get the package deal....cam, comp 918's and hardened pushrods for $599. I think TR sells a package that comes with the patriot gold's, titatium retainers, valve seals, pushrods, and cam of course for around $730.
Both companies cam's are ground by comp, IMO they have the best lobes for the LS engines. just my .02
