Default Engine builders whats your expirience with spun/walked cam bearings

Looking at a nice 6.0l block short block still assembled but looks like #3 cam bearing walked of the bore. Used a flash light didnt see bluing in cam bore or bearing. Shop next door wants $150 to dissasemble, clean and install new cam bearings. But thats only if owner ok with it told him if it checks out i will buy it.Or it checks out no good and Im out $150 bucks.

Unfortunately you just have to have something like this checked, its not often that we see a cam bearing spin, but if the bore itself looks ok, I would take the risk.

Depending on price and completeness..it could of been a mkney maker. Part the engine out and made a few bucks, even if the block was bad

No deal thought about it but he was firm at 400 for block with rods and crank still together no pan. it would have cost me 150 so I would have a bad block and better stock rods with floating wrist pins for 250. ive seen rods here sold for 100. so still would have been out 150.

I guess I was thinking it was cheaper for some reason, but it sounds like you made the right choice.
