Does this 408 sound OK

Congrats on getting it running, you been working on this for a long time
Read the posts on this page. Easy way to get a good estimate of what your preload is, based on number of bolt turns from zero lash. You should shoot for .080-.100

The heads are from patriot and from what they say the heads are stock and not milled. Im running a Comp Xer cam, now what I do not know is if those cams have smaller base circle. If that is the case then I can see the 7.400 push rods Im running being too short?
My other problem is I bought this motor from 2bseen and now I can not get intouch with them to talk about the motor. Mahle n2o coated pistons, callies rods, eagle crank. It has patriot stage 2 ls6 heads and 10.5 compression ratio. It has a comp cam 238/242 605/615 113 lsa stock rockers , LS7 lifters

With that higher lift cam you probably have a tiny base circle. Get a pushrod length checker and see what length you really need. I had a 1.42 base circle(<<tiny base circle) on stock milled heads and ran a 7.450" pushrod.
