cylinder wall rust????
#1
At the front of the #1 cylinder wall there seems to be a little rough brown spot. It looks to be rust. The motor is out of an 04 with 35K miles. I was told the motor was in perfect running condition when I bought it. It is very light, but I noticed it when I was coating the cylinder walls with a little Mobil 1. I was planning on putting this motor in while the other motor is being built. Is this a bad idea? All the other cylinders are perfect with cross hatching. Any idea short of tearing it down and having it bored and built? ID rather not if I dont need to.

It's probably just a stain. if it is smooth to the touch then don't worry about it. If it is pitted you probably still don't have to worry about it if it is just one little spot. Most people would freak if they saw what my cyl walls looked like on my 6.0 when I put it together.
