The OP of that thread is my friend who's car we did the cam swap in. He was trying to warn others of potential issues we had , when along comes some dumb muther fucker who prob still lives with mommy had to reply with a smartass remark.

Just seeing this now... but what a pain in the ass. Glad I didnt pull the trigger on that tool when the time came.

I did this when we changed springs on an SS Camaro that was getting a new cam. I used 1 1/2" x 3/16 steel flat bar to do one spring at a time. I started with bolts I found in the scrap bolt bin. I ended up going and buying some good grade 8 bolts that were the perfect length.

Man my back was stiff when I was done bending over those low ass fenders.

Hey OP, sorry to bring this thread back up but I ran into a problem with this tool today. I'm installing ISKY beehive springs on my heads and they are too tall to get the compressor seated on the heads first before compressing the springs. Is that how you bent the two bolts in your first post? I didn't want that to happen so I backed the two bolts back out and it pulled the top two threads out of the head. :cry:

When I installed the PAC springs on my LS3 heads they must have been much shorter than these springs cause I didn't have this problem.

I had a little of the same issue but was able to thread the bolts in the head far enough and then manually compressing the springs a little while sliding the compressor plate over the spring. All worked out fine.

I got them on there. Can't fix stupid :D

It was tall enough to put on PAC 1518s, not sure how much taller your beehives were.

Still a piece of shit tool for sure.
