Cant understand my cam specs
Well what can you cam gurus say about this cam?
intake : 247 / .607lift Exhaust: 240 / .607lift LSA: 114 Recommended intake centerline: 110 has 4 degrees of overlap and is a lunati grind. :hmmm: |
What's duration rated at, .050 or .006?
|
Are you sure the intake and exhaust arent mixed up?
Usually blower cams have more exhaust duration than intake. Say a 240/247 .607/.607 114 lsa instead of your listed 247/240 .607/.607 |
BIG cam, it has 4 degrees of advance ground in. :)

actually it has no advance ground in, but is recommended to be installed 4 degrees advanced.
But where do you get 4 degrees of overlap on a 240s at .050 cam? I dont have an overlap calulator handy, but it should be much more than 4. |
Well I don't know either intake opens 2deg btdc and exhaust closes 2deg atdc which makes it 4.
Specced based on too many details however and this is one of the reasons Im asking about the cam cause I can't understand it at all lol |
Pretty odd cam choice....
Very low overlap which is good for mileage, but I doubt you care about that on your setup. Big duration for a truck and especially a supercharged big engine truck, and the reverse split for a roots supercharger is very odd. Lift is fine, maybe leaving a little on the table depending on what heads you have. LSA sure is tight for a blower... Sounds like this cam is specd for high peak power, but I dont think it would work well in your application., but what do I know... |
