On another note when your engine was knocking did it sound like a rod knock??? Was it just off idle under a slight load???

Soooo, is it possible that they corrected the problem?

As far as I know they started using different blanks. I have not heard of any new cams going bad lately. The cam industry is a very small community.

Some people enjoy throwing extra money out the window on advertising.

It was at all RPMs. I never took it over 2000 though. Just to work and back and I knew something was not right when it started getting louder. It was a loud metal tapping. Not as loud and fast as the rod knock vids I've seen on youtube.

I could roll the lifter across a table and hear the thud every time the flat spot hit the wood. Imagine that with the spring pressure several times per second smacking against the cam

I just flushed the engine and I think its the lifters. Started to go away after flushing and using thinner cheap oil and then I put thicker oil in and it came back. My first thought was the piston rocking because I have good oil pressure. Then I thought maybe its just dirty enough that the pins are getting tight. After talking with a good friend, I believe its related to cam and lifters. Either its sticking or its ready to come apart. Since its an 00 I am sure it has the first design rollers in it that are not encapsulated. The just have on leg on each side. Time for a new engine with more power!

noob question, how do you know if what springs will be optimal for your cam?
