Do this trick I learned it from v8 here on the board. Remove the rocker arms but leave the pushrods in, rotate the cam a few times then watch the pushrods. If one falls then do the dowel rod method if they dont then remove the pushrods spin the cam a couple more times pull the cam and put the new one in. DONE and easy. With only 68 on the ticker I wouldnt be hesitant at all to not use anything to hold the lifters up. Dowel rods work well too but arent necessary at all with the low mileage that you have on your motor.

Okay seriously though, question about the dowels. Do i just rotate the cam till the lifters are up, then stick the dowel all the way in? and if they don't stay up, just work the dowel in while rotating the cam?...

Thats one way to do it.....for the most part they "should" stay up in the keepers. We have a 70K LQ9 here at the shop that held them up just fine. Take yo time homie!

Seriously with the mileage on your motor you can rotate the cam and they should stay up. Do the pushrod method that I posted and if they stay up spin it and swap em. So what sponsor is Jeph affiliated with?
