Default Is this cam swap worth it??

Hey guys, My truck has been fun but its time to take it up a step.. So far my mods are in sig, but i am joining the snail club after the first of the year after i spoke with Kyle a few weeks ago(KBracing)and getting a 70mm and run 7-8 psi, so im curious if you guys think this cam swap would even be worth the time. Im probably going to swap my stock 706's with some 243's to drop some comp and pick up some flow so please take this into consideration.

My cam now- 212/218 .522/.529 114 and looking to move up to a vinci trucker- 216/224 .551/.551 115 i believe??? Would this even be worth the time to change cams?? Thanks in advance.

Just mill the 243's .040 or .050 before you install them.

As for the cam swap I say go for it if you get it cheap enough

alot of guys run your current cam with boost with good luck. a little off topic but how do you like your 212/218 with the setup you have now?

Man I love it, it lopes well enough to know its not stock, but the driveability is EXACTLY like stock but much more power. I wanted to keep it but thought a tad more lift and duration may help take more advantage of the 243's better flow characteristics. Plus if i ever go 6.0 then the trucker cam would be a better choice.

Yeah i agree man, i think the 212/218 is HARD to beat as far as best overall cam for a mild or stock headed 5.3. That is why i chose it I am kinda leaning on this.......If i switch 243s then ill upgrade cam, but if i keep my 706's i think ill keep my 212/218

AKLowriderZ71 loves the Trucker with his Maggie on his 5.3...everything that I've heard about that cam has been great. Roger Vinci actually runs that cam in his NA 5.3 with a Yank TT2600 and says it's a perfect combo (well, I'm sure he wouldn't tell me that the cam sucks *** lol), but all the input that I've gotten on that cam has been positive. Of course the 212/218 is a proven performer also, but I think that you'll benefit from the extra lift and duration of the Trucker, considering your plans for the truck...just my .02
