Default Cam recommendation?

I know, I know, this has to be like the 4,000th cam request but cam suggestions are a little mod specific so I had to make a new post. I will be in the market for a cam in a month or so and am trying to decide on which to go with. With the mods listed in my sig, what do you guys think? Right now I am looking at the TR220 or TR224 but am not too sure if I am looking in the right direction. The truck is a daily driver but I have my foot in it quite a bit and want a cam that is going to make a pretty strong difference. I don't plan on doing nitrous or FI anytime soon and will probably be on the stock converter for a year or so before I can get a stall. When I do get a stall it will probably be in the 2600-3000 range but I am looking for something that will run pretty nicely on the stock converter. Anyone have any suggestions for this setup? Thanks in advance!

just my opinion, but i think your going at it backwords...i think you should buy a 3000 stall first, then save for the cam/springs etc. no sense in wiping your *** before you **** if you know what i mean.

Get the stall first, or together or a smaller cam.

Yeah, I figured I would hear that. I just feel like a cam would make more of a difference right now than a stall. By the time I can afford to get the stall I will probably want a different cam anyway and will have the money to do it but right now I am in school without a job and have the mod itch again, lol. I haven't done anything to my truck in almost a year so I want something that will make a little more of a difference. If I am wrong in my thinking and will gain more from a stall please feel free to slap me, that is just what I am looking at right now.

Yes sir, get the stall 1st. I got the 220/220 with the idea of keeping my current stall and not having to change anithing else. Now I am going with a 3k or bigger stall and wished I had gotten the 224/224 since I am getting a bigger stall anyways. It runs good but can surely use a bigger stall.

Depends on where you want the power man. Are you looking ofr increased of the line acceleration or wanting it haul from a 20 punch?

I guess a little of everything. I run it at the track quite a bit but I also like to puch it around town when someone gets a little froggy next to me. I don't have much of a problem off the line right now, actually it is more of a traction problem. My biggest problem is higher up in the rpm range and hitting it from a roll. I have no downshifts with the 4.10s so I have to be going about 20-25 or right on 50 to take off when I punch it. That was kinda my reasoning for getting a cam. I figure if I lose a little off the line then I can get better traction at the track and possibly even use factory tires at the track and not worry about spinning off the line as much and have more power while cruising around town with my heavy *** 18s on too. I went to the track on my Michelin XC LT4 tires in a 255/70/16 on factory rims only brake stalling to 1600 with good track prep and spun completely through 1st and halfway through 2nd. I can still spin halfway through 1st with the 18s on. I guess the way I see it, I will have even more traction problems with a stall and still won't have the power in the powerband to pull me back up to where I should be.
