Through '04, I know the LSA was 114. I think the early '99's may have been on a 115.

go for a 114... ive got a 212/218 with an LSA of 115... its a nice lope at idle, nothing like hail rattling down on an aluminium roof top, a 114 is what would be my next cam.. plus get something higher the a .550 lift, ull regret it later as i did now :/

Unless you are switching to L92 heads I would not recommend going over .560 lift. No matter what you do to these heads they flatten out flow at this point and you are not doing anthing but stessing your valve springs. Just my 2 cents after using 5 different cams. Good luck.

Okay, so Im running with stock 5.3 for now. Let do 212/218 with LSA 114? I think Im going to run 918s valvesprings. What lift would give? .560?? Lsa 114 is ok for n/a and turbo later which I not have to swap cam again. Let me know what exactly for me to start simple things. Do I have to change torque converter when I run aftermarket cam?

212/218/114 lsa will be a suitable cam for both n/a and turbo. it would be a good idea to run a 2600 stall converter. but its not necessary. a 2600 stall will still allow you to tow also. a cheap upgrade is a trailblazer converter. they are all over the place in the classifieds. hope this helps

Please pay attention to the cam card's value on OVERLAP. As I said in an earlier post, to much overlap will kill you when going Forced Induction, LSA is not always a good indicator of overlap. You can look at the various manufacturer's specs and find a cam with a LSA of 114 and overlap of 0* as well as one with 14*. Just don't want you picking out a cam that will suffice for now (Naturally Aspirated), then be a dog when you go F.I. Of course going this route you will loose a little bit of "potential" to produce horse power in N.A. form, as a bit more overlap can be benificial in N.A. form.

How can we deal with this? I sitll confuse about overlap. I dont know which one SIMPLE for me to run. No matter what which one can work on N/A and turbo. I still want to atick with 212/218 but I still struggles with LSA. Texasmotorsport offer me the torquer v.2 Camshaft but didnt tell me a lsa. http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=174&catid=49

2600 stall umm How about 3000 or 3200 If I go with 4l80E tranny? Trailblazer coverter you mean Trailblazer SS?

well, you said you still tow alot so a 2600 would be a little easier, plus a 212/218 cam makes plenty of power down low, so you dont need a bigger converter to make up for the loss of low end. plus a 2600 stall will load a turbo a lil better than a larger converter say 3000 t0 3200. the trail blazer converter i speak of is from the 6 cylinder TB's
