Default Cam lobe overlap

I am looking at purchasing a cam with these specs: 208/217 .508/.509 114
I plan on using 1.8 ratio rockers, which will change the lift to .538/.539. I don't know how much the duration will change.
My concern is, how much overlap does this cam have, and how will it effect emmisions?

That cam is very small. I would go with something alittle bigger for all that work.

208+217=425/2=212.5
114x2=228
212.5-228=-15.5* overlap

Here is a good article. I don't really care for the calculation above due to the many variables which it can't cover.

You're right and that is a good article, but for stuff like this, it's not gonna make a huge difference. If he was building an all out drag truck I would use their method but for simplicity, the simple caluclation I got from XLR8NSS(I believe) will work just fine.

Oh and a 224/224 on a 112 sounds badass even with the stock exhaust

Yeah, I agree. I'm not **** usually. I just check the duration @.050" and LSA and occasionally compare the adv duration to eyeball the overlap. For a play toy it's just a game of horseshoes for me. Close is good enough. I'd rather go drink another beer than worry about 2* overlap.
