With us, normal labor pricing for an install like this would be $1400 for cam and lifters.
$1400 for just labor or $1400 for labor, cam and lifters?

I was quoted 925$ for a INSTALL. That is me buying my own cam and pushrods separately. IIRC they were going to install the new cam, and lifters, also upgrade my oil pump and something else. They said that was a must when doing a cam swap. But these guys are the best in town, and deal high performance all year-round and nationwide. Heck I think they are 1 of the sponsors on this site, or the Camaro, Corvette sites.

At the time, I thought was too much, so still have not did my cam swap. But I rather leave the job up to a PRO that has done it hundreds of times. That way my mind is at easy about my engine eating itself alive... My tuner was then going to cut me a break on the tweak of the tune if I did the cam.

x3 on doing all my own stuff. heck, i went as far as building my owen engine. my first LS build, but if you can rebuild a old small block, then you can rebuild a LS. both are pretty basic pushrod engines.

That's a good price, I don't know that I would do it for that cheap. I hate cleaning headgasket material. I like doing work for people who want to learn. I usually cut them a deal if they hang out and be my tool/beer bitch so they can learn something.
