Default cam and drivability

With this cam, how hard to make it idle and drive like (or close) to stock?

Intake 219
Exhuast 222
Lift intake 564
Lift exhaust 551
lobe separation 112
4 degrees advance on cam
intake centerline 108

Right now my trick surges from 2nd to 1st. some idling issues to get resolved. Drivability at low rpms and idling kinda sucks. Sometimes the truck feels like is going to die when coming to a stop. Truck seems to run pretty smooth when cold but when heats up is when the issues arise.

Allen Nelson is doing the tuning. I bought hp tuners to scan and email tunes.

you really shoudl find a cal on the HP tuners website that is close to your setup, load it and final tune it. Sounds to me like it is lean, because if it is running good when cold, then it is getting enough fuel. There shoudl be no problem getting it dialed in.

What is open loop? I have seen the terms "closed loop, and "open loop".

Open loop means that the oxygen sensors aren't controlling the air/fuel ratio to a certain targert air/fuel ratio. The other sensors in the system are controlling the fuel like the MAP, IAT, TPS, MAT, or MAF.

Anytime an engine is not monitered on the exhaust, it is running in open loop because the computer has no way of truly knowing what the engine is seeing. It is just going off of commanded values that the user has input.
