Default Cam and converter suggestion for 2012 5,3 crew cab

i got a 2012 crew cab 5.3 6speed with 3.42's. I been looking at a comp LSR 215/223 604 609 112lsa with a yank 2800 9.5 inch SST, Nelson custom tune, volant cai, corsa headers and a 22 inch magnaflow. What do you guys think. its my every day driver so its gotta do it all grocerys tow haul the hole 9 yards so to speak. Also might do a 3/5 drop....

Id go with a slightly bigger converter, maybe a 3200. My cam experience isnt the best so Ill let someone else make a recommendation

Thanks for the input cowboy. I might consider a triple disk 3200 stall so I can still haul and tow when needed.

Flow data on the 243/799 heads says the airflow drops off after .550 lift. So getting a cam with that much lift isn't going to do you a whole lot of good after .550. I'd go with a 3200 converter and Comp 212/218 to help with those 3.42 gears.. You'll also need to pick up a good transmission cooler. Depending on how much you tow, the 3200 converter may be too much in the Texas heat.

I cant really say why Im just not a big fan of the 212/218 cam that why i was thinking about the LSR cam, the 243's will get a port and polish job in the future.

If the heads will see a port an polish, that may be enough to help it out in those upper lifts.

Looked at the head flow numbers. Seems the flow is equal from. 550-.600" lift so its not dropping off any just not going up. And yea gonna get the heads ported at some point.
