Default Cam choice for 5.7l ECSB Z71

The truck is a 02' ECSB Z71 with 33"'s and 3.73 gears. The truck will be towing 21' ft ranger boat and a car trailer. The truck will be running a truck intake manifold right now as we know it builds better torque than a LS6 manifold. We will be installing pace setter headers and a Yank TT2600 stall and doing the tuning via HPTuners.

The motor we are going to be putting in is a Forged LS1 motor out of my corvette. fully balanced, eagle h beam rods, ARP rod bolts, Mahle pistons. polished heads, 10.8:1 compression. The cam in there right now is my TSP 233/239 .600/.605 112 LSA. ITs a large cam.

So were looking for some advice on a good towing cam. We will be installing the motor with the current cam and see how truck runs and change the cam once we decide on the right cam.

I like the numbers and curves on 224 cams. Anyone running trucks with 5.7's and 6.0'sL and 224 series cams?

Thanks for the input.

Man rcsb are runnign 224 cams with much larger stalls. Would not be my cam choice for a towing 5.7l. Be looking at hte biggest 212/218 to make the most torque under the curve.
