I bought the engine as is from my buddy. I didnt 'pick' the combo. It was in his RCSB that he uses for roadcourse. But it runs and drives well. My LQ4 that was pulled had 300k on it, and held great oil pressure and was still quiet. And yes, to each their own.
It idles rough, just like anything I've had before with a big cam. But with the convertor, it drives and takes off nice. Tighter feeling than I expected. Above 6k it feels like vtec, and shift points are 6700.
"NA" or "Truck" Stage 4? Truck version wouldn't be too bad. The NA would be stupid-peaky for use in a street truck. Fine for a lighter vehicle on a roadcourse.
Are you using an adapter to run the 78mm TB on an L92 intake? If so, then it and the stock airbox are choking it. Which means you're not making effective use of the cam.

It's not the truck stage 4, it's the car stage 4. Yes, this cam is more ideal for something lighter, I 100% agree. A truck cam would be what I would recommend for a stranger if they wanted a cammed truck. But I got a good deal on this combo. I rarely tow with this truck. But I like the sound and powerband it offers.

Sorry I didnt see all of your post. Yes, stock throttle body, 78mm, adapted on stock intake. the stock TB is good for 450 rwp from what I've heard. I did the bigger factory throttle bodies on my other 6.0 truck, with the x-link, and kept getting random misfire codes. It pulled stronger with the bigger TB, but the misfire codes drove me nuts. And yes stock airbox for now too. Once I finish the turbo build on my other truck, the CAI is going on this truck with the stage 4 cam.
I plan on getting the combo on a local chassis dyno with stock airbox and exhaust, then install the cai and full exhaust with long tubes to see just how much it picks up.
