Default boosted/sprayed 4.3L, how much will it take?

How much power can the stock internals take if I retard timing 6+ degrees? Anyone with turbo/supercharged 4.3 vortec trucks out there?

2006 silverado with 4.3L, vortech s/c 9psi, 2 extra fuel injectors, intercooler, water injection, nitrous...maybe 320bhp now + more torque

I have been wanting to swap the pulley to 12-14 psi boost, and up nitrous from 20 to 30-40 shot... would use a progressive controller for a little less shock. Plugs are 2 steps cooler than stock, will get 2 more steps cooler if I go this route. Want to get to 390-400bhp with more torque

The 4.3s seem to hold up pretty well to nitrous and boost. The only time I hear about one going bad is with bad tuning, popping head gaskets and/or knocking. There are a few guys who have sprayed 175-200shot and held up for awhile, another couple have seen 16-18psi.

If you keep up with the fuel and timing, it will love it.Ive been spraying mine from 92k miles to about 118k miles, Ive gone through alot of nitrous. Im gonna be hitting mine with a 150-200 shot this year.

@A Low Dime
I have a 06 silverado and I just bought a NOS Sniper wet kit and wondered how far I could push it HP wise on the stock internals.

I've heard that they hold up pretty good, as they're basically a small block chevy -2 . Unfortunately my dad just had to swap out his bone stock 4.3 in his 96 Blazer, which has been properly maintained it's whole life, as it developed a rod knock then threw the rod, with about 130k on the ticker. **** happens, anything can break and Murphy's Law dictates that it will happen at the worst time, so it did for my pop

My 4.3 has lived through lots of 100 shot runs and a few 150's. And I'll put it this way, it's not on a conservative tune. Or anything resembling a nitrous tune. **** it had a bottle through it on stock plugs.

**** I can't remember off the top of my head, whatever Nitrous Outlet recommends for the 100 shot with their nozzle kits.

Default 4.3 big power

I have been doing some reading and I found an article from HOT ROD mag on a built 4.3l they did that made 350hp/NA on the fly. I am starting to do that build but it is going slowly. According to the article you could easily make 500hp with forced induction plus what ever bottle you want on it. here is a link to the article.
