I like your thoughts skoalman, My exhaust currently is the ebay headers, y pipe, to a 3'' cat back si do 3 '' summit muffler. I am going to do true duals or big single this winter.

BUT I also like seeing AK's E.T.'s with stock exhaust basically.

Im at a wall where exhaust may benefit me slightly, but not get me the .4-.5's im missing somewhere with my combo.

I threw more timing at the truck this weekend and MPH didnt change, even had 110 CAM 2 in the tank.......Truck didnt like the extra timing.

Love this thread so far

I'm changing my setup just to try getting into the 11's, all boost. Dunno if it will happen, but I'm trying anyway. I still gotta open up the intake side of things, and turn up the boost. Collecting parts as we speak.

If Tim Z was fighting IAT pulling timing, that happens at the 2nd half of the track. His 1/8th times would be better, then it would fall on its face. Definately would not have 107 mph in the 1/4.

Yes true, most of the time this is what happens. I think we will agree something is going on in the first half of the track that is holding him up.
You spinning at all tim? Im assuming your using your 4wd which would make that unlikely but cant hurt to ask..

Never ever hurts to ask.

4x4 launch, nice and smooth, no spinning, maybe due to lack of grunt from current cam? She does bark second though even in 4x4.

BTW 3.73 and tru trac in the rear.

But damn in 2 wheel drive just punching it this ***** does a nasty 300' foot posi burnout, i mean she dont feel short on power, im kinda stumped, Def. wander how a better blower cam will wake her up??

Do u have a log of your runs at the track? I'd like to see what your timing does during a run.

I bet the trans and converter is the biggest part. Some converters just don't multiply torque. I think the converter is one of the reasons my truck pulls the way it does.

Arent PI converters known for being a little on the tighter side? I know converter manufacturers have different options and categories that would affect this, but i mean overall consensus when compared to yank or CD..?
Thought i had heard that somewhere, maybe not..

I still think it is more related to gears, stall.. You are 373's, with a under stalled converter, for that cam size IMO.. Your trapping great mph, def good for the low low 12's.. All the other guys with ec trucks, are running more converter and more gear, thus pulling harder out of the hole.. The 373's are giving you the bigger mph on the top end.. More gear and converter will help all over. Might not gain huge mph on the top end, but will make up for it where it counts, the first 1/8.. As far as the smaller headers go, maybe some bigger primaries and collectors would help, since you are smaller on the exhaust side.. Before I would tear into the engine, I would be looking into gears, def a converter..

I ran 3.73's on that 12.3 pass. I did the gear swap during last winter. I've only been to the track once with these 4.10's.

His 60 ft times are really close to mine. His converter is launching him pretty good, and he said he only brake stalled it, never tried flashing it(which is what worked best for me too).

I'm sticking to my analysis on this one.
