Default Bearings , LQ4 on Boost

I have MS-2199P mains, and CB-663P rod bearings. It seems everybody swears by a different bearing and says the other is crap. I want to hear real world accounts of which bearings get the job done. I don't mind paying good money for better bearings if need be. If you don't have experience wit this subject, please don't post what your cousins buddy thinks. THANKS!

^ But chinese people are smart

I used clevite H bearings in my last two engines. THey are nice. The main bearings you chose were P series. They are considered high performance bearings for street engines. P bearings are softer than the H and are more forgiving. H bearings are more geared towards race cars. I would run the P series in a heartbeat. I think I will try King this time around though just for the hell of it. I hear nothing but good things about them.

King is made in Isrial as well as most of the bearings now including GM. There is nothing wrong with king, I just prefurr Gm or Fedrals. The P series clevite is old technology. Not every clevite p series will fail under a high hp application, but most all the bearing failures I have seen have been Clevite, or mich 77 p series related. They are OLD tecnology and do not hold up as well in modern engines making 2+,hp per CI. Aluminum bearings like oem in LS engines. Their H series is a good bearing when ran with a aftermarket 4340 crank, but I stay clear of the p. I don't talk about it in here but I build 50-75 engines a year and have done a LOT of testing. My engines have held together and show the power at the track. Yet people on internet forums will still question and argue with my tec advise lol.

Good info! I know a lot of guys have problems with Clevite H series being tight on the #3 main. Is this still an issue with them, or have they corrected it? Have you have that problem?

I have never had a problem with the clevite H bearings but really only use them on 4340 crankshafts.
