I have the 212/218 low lift version 114 lsa from comp cams.

this thing makes great torque @1500rpm which is 55 mph for my truck and can pull hills with ease and no downshifting.

but it does make noticeably more torque @2000 rpm (75mph)very good throttle response and passing power

I think it would just depend what speed you travels at most

I've got the 212/218 also, have yet to install it and its been on a shelf in my closet for a year now! I got a circle d 3200 and 4.10 with a locker to go with it.
Glad to read you like the cam!!! It's inspired me to get off my *** and put it in. Now is a perfect time also since I'm 100 miles into breaking in my rear end!

I ran an 01 ls6 cam in my old 5.3 RCSB w/ tb verter, lt's and 4.10's. It wasnt a dyno queen by any means made 288/292 on 87. BUTTTTT it got well over 20 mpg on trips and went a best of 9.02 1/8 and 14.0@97.5 bouncing off the limiter on the 1-2 shift due to a tad shorter tyre and no laptop at the track DOH!!!

I loved it had all the low-end I wanted for towing and hills. I was really imprressed with the mpg. I just cant make up my mind on what i want to put in my 4.8 now.

I've got the 02+ LS6 cam in mine, no dyno queen either but the mpg is outstanding! Good times there! Makes me want to put my tb stall in.

It ripped for sure. That was with 2.10-2.00 60 foot times also. I wish i knew as much about tuning then as I do now lol.

The 01 cam is a tad smaller the the 02+ and on a narrower lsa. I lean towards smaller cams and drivability in trucks for sure. But thats just me.

Man you all make me wanna pull the tsp 220 outta my 4.8 for something smaller lol. Even with 4.10 gears at 2400 rpm @ 75 mph it still needs alot of throttle to climb small hills. Pulls hard up top.
