Has anyone personally or personally know someone who had a failure where this mod would have prevented it?

that was white1's motivation, he grenaded his stock bottom end 5.3L. when he got the 6.0L he spun it upside down on the engine stand and swapped them before anything else. The purpose is to acheive a higher rpm limit without launching a piston into the head.

That yellowish stuff on the block, looks like you had to discharge a dry-chem fire exhtinguisher on that thing...


Anyways, i'm litterally 2 of 8 pistons into reassembly of my engine. And i have ARP-pro bolts, no issues installing them at all. (Test fitted all 8 rods)

That had to hurt. How high were you spinning it when it detonated? I asked Rick about doing rod bolts on my set up with the Radix and he said it wasn't necessary.

its cheap insurance considering katechs are only 160 on ebay and are direct fit and if you blow the bottom end out its easily a grand to be back to whereyou started
