You should make a bet with them that you don't have to pull the engine, and then when you win, have them pay for your cam, springs, and pushrods

A mechanic I bought some wheels from told me I would have to replace my pistons if I installed any aftermarket cam.... even just the LS6 cam.

And... I told him that I had my truck dyno tuned, and he said I should get a programmer.. they're so much better.

Why do people open their mouths and make fools out of themselves when they obviously have no idea about what their talking about?

^^^^^ LMAO !! a buddy of mine use to work at a stealership and i would go in there and ask them what i can due for performance mods they always told me , intake , handheld, and flowmaster , and the only thing after that was a supercharger , lames thats what would keep me from discovering the power these trucks have !

Show your buddies this thread so they can see what a bunch of ******* idiots we think they are.

My First cam swap in my old 04' was Done By TJ, took him 4 hours to swap cam and springs and we stopped to eat pizza.----- Suck on that!!!

My second cam swap done by me last year took 6.5 hours taking my time, had trouble getting the oil pump tube lined up, but no biggie,----- suck on that x2 bitches!!!!!!!!

So i bet most of us here as hobbyists are BETTER mechanics than those retarded dicklickers.

You do have to lower the oil pan if you're changing the timing chain though in order to get to the bolt on the pick up tube so you can remove the pump, still nowhere near removing the engine. Hell, you can do rod bolts with the engine still in; I think the only thing that would require pulling the engine would be an engine swap......then it becomes necessary

In 19 hours you COULD pull the engine, do a cam/spring swap, re-install the engine, then watch the entire Super Bowl and take a nap.

Ask them do they pull the transmission to change the driveshaft? Can you give me the name of the Dealership so I never go there?
