The simple answer to that would be head studs. As the saying goes, "Head bolts are an accountant's decision. Head studs are an engineer's decision."

Damn good one there.

As for the aluminum blocks, the LS2's have been in the 700+RWHP range in stock longblock form. The LS1/6's shouldn't have much problem with the 650+ range.
