Default Any 4.3's in here?

I have a 2000 1500 with the 4.3 v6 5spd. Would love to do some more things to it but having problems with parts (finding) Any help would be great. the motor only has 45k on it so don't really want to pull out but you know.

Summit sells headers for the 4.3s. I don't know much about the internals on the V6s. I just pulled my 4.3 out, and will drop a 5.3 in this weekend. I don't guess you'll be boltin' on some sort of wet kit?

I know they make some wicked turbo kits for them, you could check out magnaflow or another exhaust company and get a weld in muffler, I dont know if the cat backs for the v8s will fit your truck. You can call jesse at wait4me, (a sponsor) and see if he can do a mail order tune for your 6cyl.

I have a good buddy with a 4.3 and just last night we ordered a complete magnaflow exhaust system, JBA headers, TB spacer, programmer, intake, pulleys, The cat backs will work from the 4.8's and 5.3's. and we got 8.5mm plug wires and plugs... he has an '05... there are lots of things you can do with those little motors... look around. they make stroked cranks, cam, rockers, and pretty much everything for those. If you have ever noticed the pattern of the exhaust ports on the heads... the 4.3's are just an older style small block with the front two cylinders gone. Some internal parts are even interchangable. Porting and polishing those motors will do wonders. it will surprise you. hope this helps.

thanks I will look around for some parts a lil more. One of my freinds said that it is just a 350 with the back 2 pistons left off and that the piston would interchange.

if you are going to do a swap you might as well go 6.0 because it you will already be into it so far, you should make it worth it...

Man...going from a 4.3 to a 6.0! How big a performance leap is that, huh? Go for it!

You should check out the thread under the GM Performance Forum. I posted a few things I've done so far.

4.3 to 5.3 Swap

As for the 6.0 suggestion, if you could find a good deal like I found, go for the 6.0. I went with the 5.3 cuz I ran across a good deal, and am on a budget (married w/ kids, mortgage, two car notes... need I say more). PM "litreddevil"... if you're serious, he may be able to help ya.

Now, just to taunt a few folks, this 5.3 will put this '86 Silverado in the low 12s. Line it up?!?! I'm game!
