My friend has a 2005 5.3 ex cab. I sold him my ls1 heads, ls6 intake, and ls1 injectors. he wants a cam too but the one i have is way to big so i gave him my stock ls1 cam. What is the best cam to put in his motor with them items? A big one that is choppy and give it plenty of power?

 

In stock configuration the 5.3 heads have 61.5cc chambers and the LS1 heads have 66.67cc chambers. I would be concerned about his compression ratio dropping by putting LS1 heads on a 5.3.

 

yeah he is going to get them milled down. Thats another ? How far should they get milled to be fine?

 

Mill the LS1 heads at least .030". His truck should run quite a bit better with the heads, cam and intake upgrade.

WTF do you want the BIGGEST CAM you can get in a truck for?

Honestly anything over about a 224 on the intake is too much if you have over 4500lbs or smaller than about a 3200rpm stall.
