I think I'm going to go with the aluminum block. Seems like there more pluses with the aluminum than I thought.

I would say he means the lq4 is heavier.

 

The LQ4 block was 25lbs heaver then the big block chevy.

 

It's true, went through all this **** back in my stroker days. The cylinders extends about a quarter further towards the crank than an iron block. You just have to notch the bottom of the sleeves for the rod bolts to clear.

 

I would use the LS2 block with Sleeve's

 

Just out of curiosity, How big of bore size could you go on a sleeved LS2 aluminum block?

 

Bringing this back up as I am going to be ordering my block soon.

If you sleeve a LS2 how big of a bore could you safely on up to say 20#'s of boost?

ERL does alot of sleved LS2's and from talking to them they say that they are fine with a. 030 overbore. With their sleeves and the super deck they can come out to 511 cubes.

 

Yeah I have been hunting around, and found ERL and have heard nothing but great things about there blocks. And after pricing everything out I think I am gonna bite yet another bullet and buy one of there 427 six bolt blocks.
