AFM Delete trying to tackle in one shot
Hey Guys.
First post here on the forum after much research and reading through older AFM delete cam swap threads. My 07 PPV Tahoe puked a lifter in Cyl 6.
I need to fact check a couple things with you as I'll have a two day window to delete the system and replace the cam/lifters/springs. What am I missing??
1. Change Valley Cover to LS3.
2. Plug DOD pressure relief in the pan.
3. Replace filter below oil pressure sensor while I'm there.
4. Remove AFM lifters and Cam
5. Install new cam lifters springs.
Comp recommended 54-535-11 Cam and 850-16 lifters
I noticed a lot of guys on here are running Comp 206/212 with yellow springs? If I run with an LS7 Lifters how do I determine pushrod length?
My questions:
Do I need to replace the lifter guides with LS7 guides?
Do I need to turn off the AFM the same day the swap is complete?
If I'm plugging and disconnecting the AFM sensor in the valley plate do I even need to worry about turning the AFM "off"?
Can I run the truck back to my house 300mi without a tune?
What am I missing? Thanks so much in advance. I really appreciate it.
Adam

LS2 LIFTER TRAYS-12595365
LS7 LIFTERS- 17122490
LS2 VALLEY COVER- 12599296
If you don't change out the DOD lifter trays there is one slot that is loose and the new lifter will turn and the lifter WILL grind down that lobe. also the reason you have to change out the Valley cover is cause oil PSI. it will be low. That's how DOD operates is off oil PSI.

I went with comp 26918-16 spring... yellow spring should be ok since your not going over .525 lift.. pushrod length if ok your not milling your heads.
I would think you would need to tune before start up. idk

Get a real spring set
Get a lq4 valley cover the one w dod its the cheap route
I ran 7.4 pushrods but thats w stock head gasket thickness
BUY A LS SPECIFIC SPRING COMPRESSOR TRUST ME U DONT WANT TO BREAK ROCKER ARM BOLTS AND THE OTHER WAY WHICH IS USING A SINGLE SPRING COMORESSOR TAKES A LONG FN TIME
