What are you wanting out of your truck? All out performance or is it a daily driver. I good daily driver cam foor a 5.3L is a 216/220 from comp or VHP or another one is TR220. Anything after that, starts getting into the all out performance.

If you have a Nelson tune, you might want to consider the TR220 even more. He has tuned bluecajun5.3's truck and he got it running good.

Ok I edited my post.

Anyways- I would run like Dirt Track Racer suggested: a 224/224 on a 112 LSA.

I'm running almost the exact same thing as the tr224(comp cams 224/224) and I love it. I need a stall but even without it, it's fun to punch it from a 20mph roll and when it hits 3k it's night and day from stock.

Also highway driving is exceptional if you ask me. I have 3.42's and I drive 400 miles over the weekend. When I drive that I ususally average around 90 mph and there are bursts of about 20 miles where I'm above 100mph the whole time.

Oh yea I almost forgot. I average 17mpg with those driving habits.

I would install that Yank converter and buy the tr224 cam. I guarantee you'll be happy with it as long as you have a good tune. My cam sucked at first until I tuned it.
