Default 862 head gaskets??

I have a 2004 5.3 that had castech 706 heads. The heads are cracked so I bought a set of 862s to replace them with.
I ordered gaskets through GM but when cleaning then 862s today I noticed the “notch”.
The 706 heads did not have the notch so I’m wondering if I have the wrong gaskets now. They appear to be a 3 later MLS style. Which I have been told will leak with a head that has a notch in it.
I’m just looking for the correct gaskets. Thanks
Here is a photo of GM part number for then gaskets I have.

That's a New gasket and it looks like its designed to work with the notch on the head.

I did see that on ticks website as well. Just seems to be way more information pertaining to MLS gaskets not holding.

I may end up calling tick and asking their advice.

If you look at the image of the gasket on there site it has extra sealing where the notch would be. GM no longer offers the composite graphite head gasket so this must be the replacement.

Tick says those gaskets will not Work with 862s that have the recess. I am headed to my local auto parts store now who claims they have the composite style gasket. Which gm doesn’t even make anymore.
I found another vendor that sells MLS gasket that work with the 862. Of course I need gaskets yesterday.
Besides a custom gasket I’m not sure there are any other options

Felpro makes a gasket that is MLS and will work with either style head. Should be able to get it at local auto parts store. I do not have the number though.

The ones I bought are felpro. I will take a photo when I inbox them. I have no idea If they are the correct ones. But I ordered them for a truck that would have come stock with 862 heads so we will see.
Thanks for the replies. Maybe I can save someone else the aggrevation with this thread

You could always put a more common head on the truck and save yourself lots of extra aggravation
