Default 706 vs 243

i have 706 casting heads on my 5.3. would it be better to get them worked or buy a set of 243s and mill them?

Speak more on this. Why werent you impressed? I was thinking of slapping on a pare of stock 243s onto my LQ9 to bring compression up to 11:1

243s FTW. If it were between 862s and 706s the 706s would win. They'll (243s) breathe better forsure but Im not sure if they'll bump ur compression ratio anything significant. I dont remember.
This was brought to my attention under my post when searching for heads for my 6.0. Look about the 4th and 5th post.

i installed some 243's milled .040 with a tr220 on my 5.3 and i guess i was expecting too much. my setup now is a tr224 cam only 6.0. lets just say it was a day and night difference. i replied based on the question in the first post. i would choose worked 706 heads vs milled 243's. the worked 706's would flow better and probably have a little better velocity for the 5.3.

depends on what you are looking to spend. ask them what they would recommend for your setup.
