Hi,
I Have A New Gmc Seirra 5.3 L Engine 2007 Model (new Shape) I Want To Swap To New L92 Engine 6.2 L (2007) In The Same Vehicle. Will It Work Or What Is Required To Be Done ? Please Advice

 

motor mounts and whatnot should be the same...

 

computer tune and peice of the wire harness should be diffrent for sure due to the variable cam timming and dod if applicable. manifolds (intake and exhaust) are pobably diffrent. for sure intake is not the same. othere than that it should all be close. oh and knock sensors are in diffrent spot the 5.3's are in he galley unless they change all the motors to the one on the out side. its doable for sure but its not a straight bolt in. now a 02 with a l92 top end is a diffrent story .

 

If he has a GMT-900 than it should be an almost direct swap like a 5.3 to a 6.0L

 

6.2 is a diffrent beast no 5.3 has variable cam timming and the 6.2 does. alot of them do have the dod though so might be good there. the ecu has to have a diffrent total tune for sure.
