I think Zippy is using 317s.

The whole top of this thread is dedicated to asking about 5.3L heads on an LQ4.

I won't get to find out. I am going to use the 5.3L heads, but I'm having the intake valves changed before I put them in. They will be the same as the 317's were.

I know its too late, but I would have shaved the 317's about .035 or so and dropped a 224 cam in it with a TB converter.

Drove it around a bit. The truck drives great and is very torquey. The transmission is not terribly happy with the extra power. Once I kill it I'll fix that problem next. The idle isn't much more noticable than the LS6 Corvette as far as lope is concerned. I'll try to get the idle clip of my truck and the Ho yet. I was out in the garage all weekend and the wife wasn't happy about that. Monday I worked 12 1/2 hours and then came home and worked in the garage another 3 hours. Next up is finishing the tuning on the Ho. Should take an hour or two. After that some E85.
