I've thought about a front mount turbo, but I hate the idea of my engine oil running through my exaust, that has to cook it under certain driving conditions.

You went to a lot of work and expense not to include a set of roller tip rockers. Those stock rockers look out of place on a hand built motor. You can get a set of Scorpions from SDPC for in 1.7 or 1.8 @ $379. Recently installed a set on a Sierra. Very high quality. A screw blower creates less parasitic loss than a roots type if you are set against a turbo. You shouldn't run your injectors at or near 100% duty cycle. You'll end up letting the smoke out of them. Once the smoke comes out it's very hard to put back in. Best to upgrade to something that will run closer to 80% tops.

People are running 7000rpms with dual springs on stock rockers with no problems. The only thing you may consider is sending a set to harland sharp to get roller bearings put in to replace the needle bearings that sometimes go out.

On the injectors, I am only using them for a few months durring the break in, no wot, so I think it will be alright.

The rockers, I am only spinning it to 6000, so do you think I should change to different ones. If I'm going to do it, I might as well do it right and spend the extra money for the good ones.

Have fun, wear gloves, have a beverage of your choice near by, if you dont have a good memory take lots of pictures. Take the front wheels off and drop it as close to the ground as possible, it will make getting in and out of the engine bay MUCH easier. Also taking the grille out makes it easier to use the top bumper pad as a step. Be careful when you seat the converter and make sure the feet of it are atleast an inch inside the bellhousing otherwise you will break the pump rotor. Good luck, Ill be on the internet all day at work Saturday if you have any problems Im sure I can help you out

Got every thing out tonight, it all went very smooth, better than expected. I only have 1 question, what size are the bolts I need to use for 3/8 header flanges on my lts, that is the only thing I forgot.
Will have pics tomorrow night.

I am overly happy with everyone I have delt with. Rex for the awsome motor assembly, and advice/help durring install. Richard at WCCH for the heads, and lots of help picking the perfect cam. Vince and Chuck at FLT are awsome even though they probably think I am a moron. Alan at Nelson Performance for the tuning and dealing with all my calls getting advice. And SDPC for all the last minute parts I didn't realize I needed until the very last second. Thanks to eveyone.

Now for the good, and bad news.I got it all in, by Sunday, and realizes Sunday night after working out a few bugs with the oil pressure, that I broke the teeth off the tranny pump. Monday I took off work to take the brand new tranny back out which was heart breaking, and put the old one back in until it gets back from FLT. I feel like a dumb ***, but I'm paying for it, so what ever. I've put about 100 miles on the new engine, and it is a beast. I haven't had it above 3000 rpm, because I'm afraid of what it will do to the 100,000 mile tranny with 80% tm gone.

Also when I pulled into the garage to start working Friday after work, I got out of the truck to take a picture first thing, and dropped the wifes $400, 2 month old camera, so sadly no pics of the swap, and sadly I still have to tell her. I am going to barrow my sister in laws camcorder this week, so I will post exhaust clips, and stuff asap.

By the way it is very b/a, it pulls harder reving to 3000, than the 4.8 did flooring it. It pulls very very hard all the way to 100 mph at half throttle. I can't wait till I get the tranny back, and the engine broke in so I can see what it will really do. I want to see what it does on the dyno, also.
