Default 6.0 Towing Power..

I have a 2013 Chevy 2500 6.0 and I’m constantly hooked up to trailers hauling hay, 40’ camper to the boats and buggies. What’s a easy way to get more power out of it? It has a Corsa CAI, Superchips programmer, series 40 flow master running 33”s any help appreciated!

What is the trucks gearing??

Going to different gearing is a possible option.

Past that I'd just slap a supercharger on it and run the best fuel you can. Doing a camshaft swap or headers will just move the power band up and you want the low end grunt for towing.

I agree PD Blower like a Magnuson is the perfect upgrade. Oh and ditch the super chips tune.

Long tube headers will help. Gears & converter will amaze you.

Pd blower and long tubes. Leave the converter for guys who dont tow as much as you do.

4.56 gears. I did that to my 3.73 geared 2017 6 liter HD and it was a massive improvement in towing. I had what was more or less a 34" and honestly for me 4.88 would have been better. They want to rev a bit to pull and the factory setup basically puts it at 5000 plus rpm on every incline which is ridiculous.

My truck has had a Magnuson MP112 for over 150,000, it made my truck a towing monster, rock solid reliable but towing gas mileage is terrible at 5 mpg towing our RV. Custom tune is far superior to the tune that came with the blower kit. Custom tune is the way to go for sure.

Small PD blower and maybe gears as above. 100% correct. I did have a big block truck that low end responded big time to headers. BUT it was a BB.

I think our platform responds really well to long tubes as well. More cubes= more gain, of course.

But even on my lowly 5.3 I went against the grain and built an exhaust system around 1 7/8 LTs and I felt a pretty impressive gain even before the tuning

without tuning for the LTs, we saw a 16hp increase at the wheels. With the ability to evacuate the cylinders and add timing we saw another 16hp. Granted, the truck was tuned prior to that but 30whp off LTs, nearly 20 without additional tuning? Rock on
