Default 6.0 oversize

Are the Iron 6.0's good for .030" over? I read somewhere that .010" was the most you could bore it without having head gasket problems. Thanks for any info.

Good, I came across a 99 lq4 for $250! I am building this up for the Wood Hauler's truck. 1 piston and cyl. was scored and the guy damaged 1 rod when disassembling it. We are going with new 4.00" crank, Wiseco forged pistons, and Scat h-beams. That's is what I need to hear. Thanks!

So basically you have a buildable block for $250.That'l work

That should be a serious wood hauler, sounds like the engine will be worth more than the truck.

.04 can be achieved easily. FYI .030 over is the standard bore for the 408 with a 4" stroke Im going 4.1" to get me a 418

Iron block, Eagle crank, Scat h-beams, Wiseco forged pistons, and thinking about the Comp 228/230 .571/.573 on 112lsa.

Sorry, I didn't see the quote.

You hav eto start out with a 6L iron truck block. The LS1 aluminum block doesnt like being bored over too much. You start running into cooling issues and good luck putting a power adder on and it living a happy life.

Rhino do a vlave job on them and call it done maybe a little cleanign up by hand would be good but not worth much more IMO. Im going with the new DART LS1 casting heads cause you can actually gain a decent amount of hp with a competition port job done on them.

250 for the block and heads is a damn steal lucky bastard it cost me 700 for my shortblock and heads shipped ot me it would have been 500 without shipping but you would still beat me.

i have not gone to pick it up yet, but didn't the 99's come with iron heads, and if so just rework them a little and they are good? That's easy enough. I guess I'm gonna up his pills up to 200 now!
