i dont get what youre saying? so youre wanting to hit 11.5 NA? then hit 10s with nitrous?
if this is the case everything now has changed, for one it will take more than 400 to the wheels second you'll need to loose alot of weight off the truck, by doing this it'll take dollars!!!

I suggest not doing the weight reduction. You're going to turn your truck into a rag. IMO, stick with the power goal unless you're building a dedicated track ride. They aren't going to let you make a 10 sec pass w/o a cage, etc...

Yes, they're the same. As for which is better for modding, it depends on your needs. The LQ9's are generally more expensive than the LQ4's...LQ9's have flat top pistons with 10.08:1 compression stock, and LQ4's have dished pistons, and 9.?:1 compression stock...they both share the same aluminum 317 heads (except 99-00 LQ4's which had cast heads and a longer crank that won't bolt directly to a 4L60E) So if you're going boosted, and LQ4 might better suit your needs...btw, around 05 (can't remember if it's 04 or 05 exactly), the LQ4 received the LQ9/LS2 style internals with the stronger rods, so a newer LQ4 would be more desirable if possible, although not 100% necessary as the older style LQ4's were plenty strong as they were.
