Default 5.3 stroker kit

just wondering if anyone has heard anything on a stroker kit that makes your 5.3 into a 5.7. My 4.8 is toast and have a 5.3 sitting on the shop floor with a head gasket gone, I am thinking about fixing it and giving it a little bit extra before I throw the supercharger on it. the 4.8 is an 03 and the 5.3 is I think a 2000.

thanks

just bore it to ls1 spec...3.898. 5.3 and 5.7 share the same 3.622" stroke! u then woulds have an iron ls1. find a set of ls1 pistons and rods, upgrade to arp rod bolts while ur at it, and call it done.

anything you can do with the heads to make them like boost? Im kind of on a budget at the moment, thats why I figured just the stroker kit would be the cheapest

I thought the rods were the same... but you should re-balance the rotating assembly because the pistons will weigh a little more.

If you're boring it out and having to buy pistons anyway, just get a dished piston and then you can run your 5.3L heads and have the lower compression too without purchasing another set of castings!

The extra cubes will make more and better power, all other things being equal!

with heads tho would it be better to throw on the 317's or do a little bit on port and polishing on the stock heads?

STOCK 317's vs PROPERLY ported 5.3L heads....the 5.3L heads would be my choice every time. You can get your compression goal with piston selection and you don't need the large chamber at that point!
