Default 5.3 cam questions

so i have a bone stock 5.3 and i want to do a cam swap but not sure what cams are availabe for it being completely stock. i want something that produces power but i also want it to have like a 110 or 112 lobe seperation, in other words i want it to sound pretty mean.

Basically anything can be made to work I would guess a 212/218 low lift 112LSA would be good for you. The tune is what makes it mean though and you will need hardened push rods and ls6 springs.

you'd be much better off to do headers at the same time or first.
but without a stall, the 212/218 would do good, even if you're extended cab or 4 door.

Might try our HT1 cam. 214/218, under .570" lift and on a 111. Has a very aggressive idle for a smaller cam.

I agree with Beau... I have the ht-1 cam in my truck... It's the blue truck on YouTube. Put long tubes and tune on when I put the cam in... Sounds good runs good.

I loved it in my 04 CCSB. Made 300/300 to the tire with supporting mods and lightly ported stock heads.

I'm running stock trans stock converter with my ht-1 cam... In an extended cab 2wd didn't notice any loss of low end. Works fine.... A 270,000 mile trans at that lol the speedo vid on YouTube on the link beau posted^ is also my truck for a reference... I do recommend you getting some long tube headers if you get a cam tho...
