Default 5.3 cam

Looking for a decent budget camshaft. Something that gives me some torque down low. I have a 5.3 block that has new bearings and rings, so now i need to decide on a cam. Something around $200-300 would be great. I plan to do a converter around 2200. I use the truck DD and towing, so something that would be good for towing, but also do fine on the highway is a plus.

I read the LQ9 cam or LS6 cam would be ok to throw it, but may not be noticable in terms of power gains. What are some opinions ?

There are literally about 100 of threads for this.

Comp 212/218 low lift. You can find them used for about $250. With any aftermarket cam you'll need new springs, so go ahead and budget those in.

Agreed on that cam, like mentioned if you do a search you will find enough info to read for days.
