ive got a 81 silverado with a mildly buit 454, 9:1 compression, bored .060 over, Edelbrock Performer intake and Performer 750 manual choke carb, RV cam 218/485.stock torque converter. 4.10s. i drag race it during the summer in the street legal class and am looking to install a bigger cam a little better suited for the strip. Ive been told i could go as big as a 240/560, but that seems a little aggressive without changing my intake, stall etc. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

I'm assuming you are wanting to keep your stock torque converter?

 

Yes, would rather keep the stock converter.
