Default 454 to 427 help

We have a 454 that we are turning into a 427. Already have a 427 crank and we have the 454 rods n pistons. I'm pretty sure the rod length is the same on both engines but is the pin height different on the pistons or do we need to use dome pistons to maintain compression?

Rod length is the same, the 427 pistons do have a different wrist pin height. Good catch.

Ok so we had that right. Here's the snag. The machine shop my boss uses isn't finding any pistons with the right pin height. The ones he sends are the same as a 454.
I looked on summit and the only have dome pistons with 1.765, 1.767, 1.755 compression height.
From what I gathered we need 1.782 comp height and we want to run flat tops with about 10:1

any help on getting this figured out is appreciated greatly.

Should be able to get there with decking and the right head gaskets I would think.

427 is why the boss wants to run in his old chevy pickup. I thought about calling dunsworth. I'll ask him to tomorrow. He's gonna bring in some 402 pistons for comparison.

Thanks Billy
