Default 408 stroker options

Been reading many posts about 408 strokers, however, I’m curious to what company (ies) people are using for their parts, (Besides Texas speed) and if possible specs on their parts if running boost 15-20psi? CNC Motorsport is getting back to me about a setup. I see scat has a kit as well I’m using their rods and stock my crank for 20psi in my lq4 and it’s holding up well. Much appreciated!

I using K1 crank and rods with diamond pistons made for a 408. Holding up well so far, I daily drive mine and have put about 15k on it since it was built. I’m am not nice to it either, been thru 3 transmissions and just ordered my 3rd torque converter for this motor. She is a torque monster for sure.

I would lean towards the above ^^^ K1 package/Diamond pistons over SCAT. I'm sure there are plenty of people that have had success with SCAT but 15-20psi is potentially a good amount of steam on a 408.

Many options today for 4" crank/6.125 rod combo today.
K1
Callies
Dart
Molnar
Lunati

Many variations within the above if your have a certain budget trying to stay within. Personally I would only go with either Diamond or Wiseco pistons but other builder to this day use CP or Ross.

Finally remembered my user name haha. Thanks for the insight, this build is for my 59’ so only about 1000-1500 miles per year I would put on it.

Ask @Atomic about his K1 crank and how many motors it went through... Then Ask him what he replaced it and how its doing.

Well my K1 crank is now a lamp in my office. It got "fixed" twice I think and on the third engine it bent and took out the mains. Changed to a dragonslayer crank and beat on that for years (that engine is still cooking in another guys truck). Cant say im necessarily mad at the K1 though, it bent at well over 1000hp the last time and was originally specd for a high compression nitrous engine.
